Kontron (www.kontron.ag, ISIN AT0000A0E9W5, WKN A0X9EJ, KTN) through Kontron Transportation GmbH (Austria) has entered into an agreement with Kapsch TrafficCom to acquire the public transport business in Spain, which is bundled in the Kapsch TrafficCom Group company Arce Mobility Solutions, S.A. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals. Public transport is not part of Kapsch TrafficCom's strategic core business.
Kontron Transportation GmbH is an international leading provider of end-to-end communication systems for railways. The company also offers ticketing solutions for public transport and the acquisition enriches this business. In the last fiscal year 2021/22 Arce Mobility Solutions, S.A. generated revenues of 11.2 million EUR and employs more than 115 people.
Relevant advantages are expected with the acquisition of the company: The technology group expands its own product portfolio and increases internal engineering capacities. Moreover, Kontron Transportation GmbH increases its presence in the public transport sector on the Iberian market and further expands the existing business.
